Active Wandsworth - Sports Club of the Year 🏆

🟡 Just a bunch of BALLERS ⚫️ For the firs 🟡 Just a bunch of BALLERS ⚫️

For the first time in our clubs history we managed to put together a U8 Girls squad to compete and we couldn't be more prouder of the girls.

They played 4 Games in the blistering heat and won 3 of them!

We are looking for more girls fixtures at younger ages so if you have a U7 - U9 team please get in touch as we have lots of girls who would love the opportunity to play a proper match.

What a fantastic day 🤣❤️

Some of our club successes this season:

- 7 Competitive Teams playing weekly league football

- Continued our games program for the 6s & 7s

- Given opportunities for those who aren't in a competitive team to play fixtures in Broomwood League & Girls Super League

- Looked after Ravenstone & Henry Cavendish School football teams and brought the south london magazine cup back to Henry Cavendish for the first time since the competition started running [1925]

- Won U10 Gold Trophy and U8 Silver Shield.

- Won various summer tournaments at multiple Age groups.

- 1 of our U8s has signed for a professional Academy for 25/26, many of our graduates have retained academy status including one who has just gained a scholarship at a premier league club!

- We've continued to push Futsal in south London and now have become a house hold name in the city for futsal.

There are plenty more achievements for this season we are grateful for all the support we receive from sponsors, parents, players and everybody else.

Please continue supporting us on the journey to creating the best grassroots club!

🟡 Q & A: How do I get my child into a professio 🟡 Q & A: How do I get my child into a professional academy? ⚫️

There are many ways in which young players get picked up here are 3 of the common routes within football.

1. Scouting - Playing for a grassroots club in tournaments and league fixtures and being seen by an official club scout [Be careful there are a lot of fraudsters out there make sure you always ask to see ID]

2. Showcase Games - Where a academy invites a grassroots club in to play them or when a grassroots club sets up a fixture specifically with scouts in attendance [Some charge money for this make sure you do your research]

3. Talent ID Days - Where are club [Arsenal/Chelsea etc] will put on a open trial or invite only trial and make selections based on performances.

There are many ways to get on the Radar but none of that can happen without Talent, Dedication and genuine passion for the game so work hard whatever club you play for and hopefully opportunities will open up for you when the time is right!

🟡 1 GOAL AWAY FROM GLORY⚫️ Another weekend 🟡 1 GOAL AWAY FROM GLORY⚫️

Another weekend full of tournament action with our U8s & 9s in the @ksicoachingfc and our U11 Girls in the @lnhfc1961 cups.

The 8s - Quaterfinalists, topping the group stages without conceding a goal in open play unfortunately missed out on qualifying into the Semi finals when they lost in a penalty shootout.

The 9s - Finalists, also topped the group stages and only conceded 1 goal in open play [Semi final] unfortunately lost the final in a penalty shootout.

The 11s - Finalist, qualified second in the group stages but grew as competition went on unfortunately lost the final in a penalty shootout.

Take a guess what we will be working on in training this week 🤣

Well done to all of those that competed this week we are proud of you as always!
