We took our 15s to play at Oxford Utd training ground in a high level tournament which included Oxford UTD Academy and 4 other showcase teams with released academy players!
We played 5 x 20 Min games and the boys didn't disappoint at all.
First Game [Against Oxford] we lost it with the last kick of the game when we conceded a freekick on the edge of the area.
Second Game we drew 0:0 defended well and had some decent chances.
Third Game: We Won 1 - 0 against the run of play the oppo had a pen and freekick on the edge of our box and we defended both of them.....the we countered and scored.
Fourth Game: We lost 2 - 0 the oppo was simply better than us.
Fifth Game: We drew 0-0 had a some really good chances, played good football but just couldnt put anything away.
Overall a really good experience for the boys as they move into thier last season of youth football - I keep telling them U16s is where you see a lot of movement in academy football and a lot of boys fall off simply becuase of complacency therefore you've got to stay fit work hard and be ready for opportunities as they will definitely present themselves to those who are prepared.
