We are so proud of Leo who has now officially signed for Brighton's Academy.
He started his footballing journey with us as a U6 I remember it like it was yesterday. He turnt up to one of our Soccer Saturday Sessions at Ravenstone. We had outgrown the space so was also using the concrete aswell as the cage - 5Mins into the training, Leo ran and had a fall, started crying and that was the end of the session for him on that day 🤣.
He didn't return back to us until mid U7s where he started training & playing games with our Advanced group. He was much improved but still very raw. The kid had bags of pace and good dribbling skills but if that ball came into him anywhere near the goal he was defending he was going to send it away 👋 🤣....
In the summer of U7s season he started picking up interest from a variety of clubs such as Wimbledon, Palace, Fulham, Millwall & Charlton however amongst all of this his Dad had a cardiac arrest which as you could imagine put a huge strain on him and his family.
He powered through into U8s with us in the Tandridge League and was still mixing it with a couple of the pre academies during the season his team reached League Cup Final in the summer [We Won 🏆] and it was there he was first scouted for Brighton.
During his U9 season he kept working hard playing grassroots football along with mixing with brightons academy and finally they offered him to sign officially part way through this season.
Congratulations to the wright family you guys have been through so much over the last few years but you've kept it all together ❤️
